A word on MicroAmp-Meter
MicroAmp-Meter is a portable current meter that can record and profile the current consumption of IoT devices in real-time. Typical multimeters have an analog switch for different current ranges that make it difficult to measure the current consumption of devices, having a wide dynamic range of current levels e.g. ESP32 consumes about 240mA in active mode and 10uA in deep sleep mode. MicroAmp-Meter provides a solution to the problem as it has an automatic shunt-switching mechanism that enables it to measure the dynamic range of current levels ranging from 1uA to 1Amp. It has inbuilt WiFi and an application that provides a real-time graphical representation of the current in a web browser. It can also log current and other parameters on a Micro SD card for more than 12 hours.
